Happy Easter everyone, my family is home together once again and today we celebrate the rising of our Lord with a beautiful hula......amen!

Not enough sleep post but some things are just too important! My wife is home, we weren't sure when it would be but after a month and a half the doctors all agreed that her blood counts were at an acceptable level to send her home! How amazing it is to have her here with us, we missed her dearly! Her own bed, her own shower, no iv lines, freedom to move around, REAL FOOD, no wake ups every 15 minutes for vitals, cable tv and of course most of all.......family, the things she missed are all to much to list! Love you sweetheart, soo glad your home!

Well as it turns out when you disconnect from the iv lines there's about a million pills to take every day, not to worry my love I will sort them out for you every day to make sure your getting better daily! For all of you following, thank you for your prayers and please continue to follow as I account for the daily progress on danielles recovery.

Your grace exceeds all that is amazing and with our words we testify your greatness....miracles surround us both seen and unseen, heard and unheard, my testimony today in Your glorification is a woman standing strong by embracing your love! You'd never know this wonderful woman has been through a month of chemotherapy, just days out of the critical care unit and being told how amazed they are by all the doctors......we share with them your story, one of a death that leads to eternal life with Him, we are not amazed, we are trusting and faithful knowing that grace and mercy are showered upon us and that through all things God can and will be glorified! As Ty Pennington from home makeover would say "welcome home Stormie, welcome home". This is Stormie sleeping in her crib shortly after we arrived back to Maui and just after she ate......take a good look cause this was about the only time she did this act of sleeping.....yikes! Its like she waited until leaving the hospital to decide that she was gonna change her schedule without any notice to me.....God will get me through for sure but I could sure use a nap. And for all of you wondering how im posting now if she never sleeps....well much like riding a bike you never forget how to do EVERYTHING with only one hand once you've had a child. See you all later, have to call my fabulous wife for an update now. She was doing great this morning just had a little high BP and the onset of a migraine so prayerfully doctors were able to lower the BP and stop the migraine, will report later.

My beautiful wife looking amazing just after dinner in her new digs.....room 227. Finished my work early on the laptop and then we hung out and played UNO for a while and watched shark tank together. She won the first game and then im pretty sure she let me win the second so I wouldn't have to go back to Maui feeling like an UNO looser. She's doing very well today, please pray for continued healing success!

Hi everyone great news from today, Danielle was able to get out of bed and walk for the first time in a week! The picture is of her making laps around the room with nurse Colene, she was woderful and really helped Danielle build herself up to todays walk. All the doctors are thrilled with her progress....on regular oxygen now and her stats are looking fantastic! Dr nyugen thinks that the lung problem might have been a result of the chemo pills so he's going to give her a 3 day break from chemo to heal then start her back up....the best news was he said that his goal was to have her home within a couple more weeks.....that rocks! We really would like to thank the nurses in the CCU they have all been amazing with Danielle and even made sure I was as comfortable as they could even though I wasn't supposed to be there. Word is that tomorrow Danielle will be discharged from this floor and
sent back to the 2 floor where she can be more comfortable, I know it will make me very happy to know my beautiful wife is comfortable. So tomorrow is also a big day for baby Stormie because she will be coming home to Maui with me to meet all her brothers and sisters along with Grandma all the way from Alabama (just realized that kinda rhymes after I typed it). That's the latest everyone, look for an update from the 2nd floor tomorrow.....Aloha to my last night sleeping on the floor in the CCU!

God is amazing, there has been soo much support and encourgement by so many wonderful friends and family.....tonight our Lord revealed himself through a perfect stranger (well not exactly a total stranger but a group of people that have only known us since we arrived here at kaiser). A nurse from the NICU came down and told us that knowing our situation and wanting to be sure that I could be with my wife when she needs me and also not have to worry about burdening our family and friends with a newborn that they as a group on their own time offered to take care of Stormie for as long as needed so that Danielle and I could be together! So many things have touched my heart along this journey and this more than most has revealed to me Gods absolute power and presence ......may He bless each and every person who has placed our needs in front of their own, I am truly humbled to my knees.

After a great day with Danielle, lots of hard work on her part to achieve her goal of being off the bypap we got to have baby Stormie come up for a visit. Sadly Danielle was not able to hold her due to the risk of infection but I know just having her close meant the world to Danielle. Thank you to everyone who has logged onto the blog site and become a supporter, its very comforting for her to see so many people reaching out to her in prayer please conitnue to spread the word about Danielles blog site encouraging everyone to sign on in support of Danielle. Our love goes out to all of you, looking forward to seeing soon!

What an amazing day it was, each doctor and nurse that came in today left feeling joyful to see you doing so well. You made a new friend in Christ with nurse Imy and Carley continues to shower you with such wonderful care and attentiveness to your well being, blessing are being showered upon you my sweet wife and I am in love with you to the depths of eternity. Sleep well, today was amazing and tomorrow is set aside just for your healing.

Baby Stormie is doing great, weighing in at 5lbs 15oz today! She's taking in a whopping 12oz a day of special formula and she's growing everytime I see her. We are beginning to plan for her first plane ride on friday this week so she can come home and meet all her brothers and sisters....grandma too!

Monday 04.11.11

Overall a really good day for so many things, Danielle's oxygen saturation has stabelized and she was able to eat some food today. Danielle also has had an amazing nursing staff that takes really good care of her, one of them even took the time to shave her legs, brush her hair and teeth even rubbed her down with some really nice moisterizer....she looked amazing!

Blood counts are still a hot topic with the doctors with the white count being a .7 and platelets at 4k there are all kinds of precautions being taken to protect her from infection. It really seems like right at the moment when we have a victory we face another battle! Please continue the prayer for healing from this luekemia, we are so greatful for everyone that is supporting and encouraging Danielle through this process.

Fwd: New post

Morning day 3 in the CCU, oxygen saturation 100% while only receiving 50% of the breathing assistance as yesterday......you go babe!

Day 2 in the CCU

Aloha everyone, new to the blog world but wanted to reach out to everyone and share Danielles updates. This is the first post of many and I will share with you the last couple days of Danielles treatment, soon I will begin posting some of the highlights from the beginning of her diagnosis.

Today, the 10th day of April was a very productive one for Danielle's lung infection. She was moved from the 2nd floor to the critical care unit on Saturday morning after the doctors had decided that her breathing had become too labored and oxygen levels were dangerously low. Once admitted to the CCU there were lots of blood tests, x-rays and tons of new medication to fight the fluid build up in her lungs. First she was on regular oxygen then an oxygen the contains controlled humidity and finaly a bypap which looks like a cross between headgear for braces and a painters breathing filter.....yikes! It was really scary for her to put on beccause it breathes for you so when you breathe in it forces more air into your lungs and when you breathe out it suck ALL the air out, when they first tried to put it on her she couldnt do it and it made me very sad to see her suffer like she was to work soo hard at breathing. Today we took it really slow and were able to get her used to it and its working great, we were just hours away from having to incubate her......PRAISE GOD we avoided that!

So its now 11pm and she is sleeping so peacefully, its the first peaceful sleep shes had in more than 3 weeks! We are so happy to hear of all the prayers that are going out for Danielles healing. I will post daily as long as time permits to keep everyone posted on her progress.
